The Invention of Hugo Cabret casting news

Auditions for the two children to star in Martin Scorsese's up-coming foray into the world of family entertainment have been taking place in the UK, US and Australia over the past couple of months. The Invention of Hugo Cabret will be based on Brian Selznick’s gorgeous kids’ adventure about a 12-year-old orphan living in the walls of a Parisian train station in the 1930s and trying to keep his father’s inventive legacy and memory alive.

Recent casting rumours have suggested Asa Butterfield (star of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and the about to be released Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang) will take the lead role of Hugo Cabret.

With experienced 13 year old American actress Chloe Moretz (about to hit our screens in Kick-Ass alongside Aaron Johnson) cast as his eccentric friend Isabelle. Chloe has confirmed she'll have an English accent for the film.

Filming is scheduled to take place in Paris and the UK from June.
